Podcast Misadventures: How God Himself Didn’t Want Me To Appear On Big Red Potion

So I was lucky enough to be involved in the second episode of Sinan Kubba’s Big Red Potion last night, a weekly video game podcast that offers unique insight into certain topics in the world of gaming that you just can’t get on other podcasts.

The experience started when I awoke at around 9:00am. I did a bit of research on the topic–which happend to be love in video games–and located my Logitec Headset for use during the show. I also downloaded all of the necessary programs that I would be utilizing, namely Skype.

This is the part where things start to go horribly wrong…

D-Pad Hero Kinda Rocks

Bitchin!

With music games escalating to Maw-like proportions, it is tough to think back to times when there were no enormous music peripherals clogging up our shelf space. Sure, there were attempts (the ‘fantastic’ Make My Video series comes to mind), but there was basically nothing around back then that offered the music-assembling productivity of today’s top-tier titles.

With that in mind, some fine folks decided that the good ol’ Nintendo Entertainment System needed a little music game love. Thus, D-Pad Hero was born!

Monthly Digital Round-Up: January Edition

Winter has sucked so far. The weather has been cold, Paul Blart: Mall Cop raked in the cash at the box office, and the steady flow of game releases that we had gotten used to over the holiday season came to an abrupt halt.

Despite these tough times, the downloadable world has continued to flourish thanks to some innovative titles across all platforms. Below are the picks for best and worst digital titles released during the month of January, all of which provide a good enough excuse to slip on some ice and take a few days off work. As always, several of the following have free demos available, so be sure to check them out to see what you think.
